Face Unlock, 90Hz screen, mid-air gesture recognition and more
Introducing Google #pixel4, our most helpful phone yet. Built around the Google software you know and love that you won't find on any other smartphone. #madebygoogle pic.twitter.com/JZxU2phmcW— Google (@Google) October 15, 2019
Google officially introduced its latest line of smartphones. Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were officially released in the annual event "Made by Google" in New York, on Tuesday (10/15/2019) night WIB. Both carry gesture control features as a mainstay.
The specifications of Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL differ only in screen size and battery capacity. Pixel 4 has a screen size that does not differ much from its predecessor, Pixel 3XL, which is 5.7 inches. The screen is capable of displaying images with Full HD + quality. While Pixel 4 XL is equipped with a wider screen, which is 6.3 inches with a Quad HD + resolution. There are no bangs aka notch on both phones.
Pixel 4 price and release date
Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL can now be ordered and will begin shipping to buyers on October 24. Google Pixel 4 prices start at 799 US dollars and Google Pixel 4 XL prices sell for 899 US dollars.
The Pixel 4 and 4 XL are priced the same as the Pixel 3 series last year, with the smaller, 5.7-inch Pixel 4 starting at $799 for 64GB of storage, and the larger, 6.3-inch Pixel 4 XL at $899. Upgrading to 128GB of storage tacks another $100 onto each. The phones begin shipping Oct. 24, and you can reserve yours now.
Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint will all carry the Pixel 4 in the U.S. That's quite a coup for Google, given that previous Google handsets were primarily Verizon exclusives (though you could always opt for an unlocked model and take it to the carrier of your choosing).
Pixel 4 Motion Sense and Face Unlock
The Pixel 4 and 4 XL are also the first Google phones to support face unlock, using a sophisticated, depth-sensing system not too dissimilar from Apple's Face ID. The Face Unlock array melds data from a cluster of sensors housed in the phone's top bezel, and leverages the Soli radar to prepare the phone for recognition as you make your approach.Pixel 4 Specification

As for price and availability, we are on the fence. $ 799 is certainly not bad, but 64GB of storage is very little today - especially now that Google has nixed free unlimited quality original photo storage that was offered for the cellphone. The three-month trial of Google One obtained by Pixel 4 buyers feels like a bad joke when compared.
That said, it's good to see Google expand operator partnerships, so anyone in the US can get Pixels if they choose. Limited availability between networks always seems to hold Google handsets, so we hope to see an increase in sales if only for that reason alone.
One big question mark is the age of new cell phone batteries. It's actually quite alarming that the Pixel team didn't mention it as a focus area during the Google launch event. Look forward to our full review of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL in the coming days.
